If you are a farmer and have incorrectly received an Ohio School District Tax notice, you’ll likely be receiving a correction notice soon.
Farmers and fishers often take advantage of the March 1 deadline to avoid paying estimated payments throughout the year, but there was an error in this year’s Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) system. ODT has been sending out SDIT 2210 Non-Remittance notices to everyone who didn’t make estimated payments and has since updated their system calculations to reverse the penalty for those who meet the farmer/fisher safe harbor.
If you were affected by this error and have not received a correction notice by 7/19/2024, contact your CPA for further guidance. Those who have already paid the amount on the notice will be refunded.
